We have for many years won business away from them based on customer service related issues. Apparently – the feedback we have received – is that they have been challenging to deal with sometimes. However they do tend to have good rates from time to time.
So now we shall see what they are like to deal with.
Interesting that they have joined the intermediary market. With a huge branch distribution network you might think they can secure enough lending already. Is the market becoming more competitive? Are they looking to reduce their cost base – but maintain lending levels? Are they worried about the increasing compliance burden of processing mortgage loans themselves and passing this burden to brokers?
