Europe – Exciting times…Wrong reasons

People ask us “how is business?” all the time. Our stock answer lately has been “Never a dull moment – but not necessarily for the right reasons!”. It seems like we might be saying this a bit more very soon.

We don’t claim for a moment to have any great economic genius, but it really does seem that things are about to go POP in Europe. Greece now seems likely to be thrown out of the Euro and then default on its debt. This will trigger all sorts of banking issues, its impossible to tell how this will impact, when the shock waves will start and how long they will last and how far they will reach. Robert Peston is going to be back on the Telly. Oh no!

However this is not going to catch anyone (HOPEFULLY!!) by surprise. Europe has been in a big mess for 3 years now and it has taken a long time to reach this moment. Political agreements cannot be made and it seems European policy makers have run out of ideas for maintaining the status quo.

HOWEVER, the coming excitements should mark the last gasps of the great Credit Crunch storm. Once its over, the world can stabilise, regather itself and we really can start to rebuild into the next economic cycle. Hold onto hats time!
